Okay....so I am old enough to be her mother....  I admit I do enjoy Taylor Swift.  Her songs have a way of getting in my head and I find myself singing along - loud - in the car.  Lately, there has been a backlash towards her.  The "I wouldn't let my son date her" is so uncalled for and downright mean.

So her songs are about her life.  So what.  Isn't that what songwriters do....use their experiences as fodder for their music.   I mean, please.  Didn't Fleetwood Mac write a whole album about their "love" lives!  Why is it okay for them but not her?  I think it is because people are just mean.  Oh and they want their 15 minutes of limelight!

You go girl.  Keep writing.

What's the issue?

Question:        If I have to show an I.D. to buy alcohol or to write a check   (who does that these days?),  why do I NOT have to show an I.D. to vote?

I don't get it.  Why are people on their soapboxes about this issues?  If you don't have driver's license then you get an Identification card.  Each state has them.

Something to think about......if one was to sneak into say.... Mexico.... illegally and were caught, you would get up to 3 years in jail!!  IN JAIL!!  No right to vote, no job or free health care...nope just 3 years of your life.  Oh and don't think of voting in other countries elections!   They don't take to kindly to it!!

Oscar, Oscar, Oscar

Okay...I am one of those who DVRs the Oscars then watches the show the next day.  This way I can watch/listen to who I want to watch/listen.  Call me crazy....


Something that turned me off this year.....why the hell was Jennifer Lopez sitting in the front row??  Is she one of our "beloved" actors that is deserving of this honor?  Was she nominated for an Oscar????  Or is she just that powerful that she can demand this special treatment!


Loved Octavia Spencer !!  She is what makes the Oscars worth watching (or fast forwarding to watch ).  Congrats to her !


And as for her co-star Viola Davis....you was robbed girlfriend!!  Yes I know everyone looooves Ms. Streep however her movie did not fair well and I personally feel that if you give an Oscar worthy performance then your movie should be one of the movies nominated for Best Picture.  I'm just saying'....

Apparently..... my invitation to the Royal Wedding is lost in the mail for surely the Queen would not slight me AGAIN !! The back story....

A few years ago, we (my family and I) we living in the UK and during this time the Queen hosted a reception for those Americans working in the UK. Some sort of celebration of the 400 years since the Jamestown settlement. My husband brings home the invite and I was thrilled to say the least. I am a huge fan of the royal family - watched to BIG wedding and the other one; sat up late into the night awaiting info on Princess Diana and was glued to the telly for her funeral..... after I screamed and dance my little happy dance, I looked over the invite. Oh it was beautiful...right up to the point where I noticed that it was addressed to my husband and only my husband! Well....surely it meant Mr. X and guest....surely they expected me to attend with him. Right? Wrong....I made him go into work the next day and speak with the British representative to find out what the skinny was and if I could attend. He called me after hearing the horrible news to which I told him I hope he enjoyed himself however I would never get over this. Needless to say, I remind him often of this huge gaff.

He went to the reception and met the Queen and Prince Phillip and even used the facilities. So you can see how I can't believe my invite hasn't arrived for surely she wouldn't do it to me AGAIN!
